Take The Pledge

Stop the Silence. Promote Awareness. Raise your Voice.

  • 1 to 2 million Americans age 65+ report having been abused by a loved one or someone they depend on for care.
  • Only 1 in 14 incidents of elder abuse are ever reported to authorities.
  • Only 1 in 25 cases of financial exploitation are ever reported, meaning there may be at least 5 million financial abuse victims each year.

You can do your part to end the silent epidemic of elder abuse by taking the pledge to stand up against elder abuse. There are 10,000 people who are turning 65 each and every day (Pew Research Center), and we are rapidly approaching a time where nearly 50% of the population will be 65 or older. Together, we can end the silence of elder abuse by standing united and raising our voices against this growing problem.

Show your support in this movement, by pledging to end the silence, raising awareness in your community, and speaking up against elder abuse.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart." R. Bove

"You are amazing! Keep up the fight for all those that can't." S. Benton

My family has been fighting a corrupt probate court that actually did nothing at all to protect my elderly parents from a corrupt attorney in conspiracy to aid two former evil family members to isolate my elderly father on oxygen at age 90 while my Mother is dying in intensive care. This has been going on for decades in Ohio. Abusive , cruel isolation all for the only purpose of greed. There are many cases here of corruption in probate court that no one in Ohio will do anything to stop, because as I was told by an attorney, “None of us would have any work.” So I am unstoppable in my cause to get justice for my parents. These attorneys in Ohio that steal family estates and commits fraud, theft of the elderly, are being protected by the good ol’ boy corruption in my area. The corrupt attorneys run the courts and committed fraud by aiding two evil brothers to steal my parent’s estate. There are many families here that did not have any way to fight back because of the corruption here. I will continue to fight for my good parents legacy and we have been fighting this an corrupt probate court since 2013 that will do nothing to protect families in Ohio. I continue my fight for my parents. I am unstoppable. This is a battle of GOOD vs. EVIL. GOD IS WATCHING.

Shared with Kerri several years ago. My father who had Parkinson’s brought in an old girlfriend to take care of him for a short while after he and his third wife divorced. The “gal friend” was my age so there was always an issue when he lived with her. She had allegedly been raped by her father and had his baby so our whole family sort of “felt sorry for her” – even though she was mental case (we thought). Low and behold years later after she was married and divorced she showed up with her younger boyfriend in Rancho Mirage and weaseled her way back into my wealthy dad’s life as his “caregiver.” I slowly got pushed out and for 6 long years fought her off, another black widow, an ex-wife and crooked business people. (I was 2 hours away). He was “chattel” and spending a fortune trapped in his condo with Parkinson’s and diabetes and even went through a double heart bypass. I was not allowed in for a five-month period until the Riverside Public Guardian got the picture and helped me. His trust was changed 10 times. I am sensitive and the cruelty toward me was unbelievable. I felt like I was being raped. My therapist believes it was really a “prostitution ring” which is embarrassing but still my dad really suffered. Yes, pictures of us kids were hidden; Dad was told we were greedy, etc. etc. What still hurts is that no one gets this unless they go through it. Also, my dad chose a really lousy executor and it took him 12 years to settle the estate. Had I not been a complete crazy nuisance all our father’s money would have been stolen and he might have been killed. (It’s possible he was starved to death). A total nightmare for a really fun, successful car dealer in Palm Springs and his three kids. Relatives of ours sided with the caregiver and all the gold-diggers! When people say, “why couldn’t he give his money to whoever he wanted?” – it makes me crazy. What happened to families? My brothers and I are solid – no drug or alcohol use and no jail. My husband was a teacher of the year for the state of California! More importantly, my father always wanted us to be well-off when he passed. Greed has no bounds.

My siblings and I are in the process of filing for Guardianship over our father. It is indeed the most difficult and saddest decision we have ever made and it breaks our hearts.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to help. Too many people are unaware of the problem, or just ignore it completely. Something has to be done to protect our wonderful elderly population.

My uncles new wife won’t let his family see or talk to him. It breaks my heart knowing he will die alone. His wife is a RN. Worked at the VA hospital. My uncle is a veteran. She would tell me how sad it was that her patients had no family. Now my uncle sit alone everyday because she lied to him about his family. Some people will do anything for money. What she is doing is mental abuse.

Charlie Turner I’m going through the same thing with my Dad’s wife. My Dad is at end of life with cancer. She has disconnected his phone and has him “hidden” somewhere to where we are unable to find him. I want to help fight for my Dad and other’s like him. How can I help? What can I do?

My step mother is abusing my father who has Alzheimer’s. She has moved him from facility to facility and wouldn’t tell me where he was for 2 months! When I finally found out where he was, she had the doctor’s sedate him to the point that he can’t even open his eyes! Now she says Hospice will only allow visitors for 5-10 minutes. I live 3 hours away. She has done everything she can to alienate him from everyone but her. It is frustrating and very heart breaking! I was told by Hospice that I have no legal rights unless I take her to court. He may pass before I can get anything done. I appreciate the work Kasem Cares is doing to STOP the abuse!

We have a dear friend that his daughter has cut him off from all of his friends. She has told us we can’t write, visit or call him. She had a doctor drug him to get him to leave his home in Searcy, Arkansas to take him to Dallas Texas. Is there anything we can do to help him as a friend?
