During a 40-year public sector career, Mr. Robinson worked with three California cities with a reputation for operating superior municipal facilities and effectively delivering public services. As Community Services Director in the City of La Mirada, he developed a Community Services Master Plan. He was instrumental in the development and operation of the $40-million Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center. He served as staff director of the Community Foundation. As City Manager in La Mirada, he was responsible for development of the municipal budget, monitoring finances, and ensuring the efficient delivery of all municipal services, including community development, public safety, public works, recreation, cultural arts and social services. He developed the City’s Strategic Plan, and was involved in the planning for expansion of the Interstate 5 Freeway as part of a multi-city consortium and a multi-agency effort to build a $60-million railroad underpass. He also recommended and obtained voter approval of a one percent supplemental sales tax to generate approximately $25-million over a five year period for infrastructure repairs. After leaving the City of La Mirada, he established his consulting firm, TR Management Services, Inc. As a Certified Management Consultant, he understands the challenges facing government agencies, non-profit organizations and businesses as they strive to deliver top quality services and facilities amid fiscal constraints. He is an active member of the Southern California Chapter of the Institute of Management Consultants USA. He is also an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America, and has dealt with local, regional and national media for decades. A founder and past president of the California Association of Public Information Officials, he holds a Masters in Public Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from California State University Long Beach.
