Take The Pledge

Stop the Silence. Promote Awareness. Raise your Voice.

  • 1 to 2 million Americans age 65+ report having been abused by a loved one or someone they depend on for care.
  • Only 1 in 14 incidents of elder abuse are ever reported to authorities.
  • Only 1 in 25 cases of financial exploitation are ever reported, meaning there may be at least 5 million financial abuse victims each year.

You can do your part to end the silent epidemic of elder abuse by taking the pledge to stand up against elder abuse. There are 10,000 people who are turning 65 each and every day (Pew Research Center), and we are rapidly approaching a time where nearly 50% of the population will be 65 or older. Together, we can end the silence of elder abuse by standing united and raising our voices against this growing problem.

Show your support in this movement, by pledging to end the silence, raising awareness in your community, and speaking up against elder abuse.

Sandra S Egge This is for my mother who passed on February 1, 2016 after being verbally abused, isolated, and financially taken advantage of by a sibling. This also occurred in Kitsap County, Washington. Adult Protective Services there were of no help.

I value your vision and hope to collaborate with you. I started the care for the elderly in nigeria by setting up free medical care for them, negotiated to start a geriatric hospital and also now raising funds to support the VETERAN HEALTH PLANS. called Senior citizens and retirees health funds.

I would appreciate a collaboration with your group to further this advocacy for the aged

I will help in any way I can, I have a dear friend in Washington who is being completely isolated and over medicated in order to gain POA and financial control. This has permenantly damaged her and APS is closing the case. She is like a mother to me and unable to even call me as they have taken her phone. The family has threatened anyone who comes around and they have lied to physicians and deprived her of proper care. Where can one turn?

Yesterday, my 74 year old sister died from dehydration and mal nutrition, after being isolated and abused by her 2 adult children who shared her house. I reported her situation to the city of NY elder abuse agency about 3 years ago. There was an investigation and for about a year a social worker was assigned to her case. Last year I visited her at her home , I live in Ohio, she in NY, and found her lying on a sheet less bed in what looked liked a storage room, with boxes and bags piled to the ceiling. She had no TV and no telephone, just the bags and boxes all around looking as if at any moment they could tip over on her. She looked like a corpse. I left the home with heavy heart to return to my home. The next day, I called the elder abuse agency and was told that her case was closed and I could reopen it with a new report. The same day, I got a call from my nephew saying that he had taken my sister to the hospital. I called the hospital and spoke to the social worker about her situation. She was sent from the hospital to a nursing home, where again I contacted the social worker, begging them not to release her to her son. She was sent home to die at their hands.

Hello! I had a similar case at Kitsap Court House, I saw you on our local news station King 5! I wrote the WA state governor Jay Inlee a few months ago and dshs court system and director of aging health care who’s stepping down now. It may be do to a $27 M child neglect lawsuit on the news last week.

I sent them my court transcripts w judges, my chief of police cousins support letter about my moms agressive behavior to us, from dementia and altziemers.

I could not get an attorney anywhere for 7 months. No one would take the case except 2 out of 40 attorney calls and or visits , for $5000,00 retainer and would not call me back. I filed 4 motions myself w help from port orchard court clerk. Aweful.

I filed appeal against judge Olson, and was set up w her husband a attorney there via kitsap legal service. He could not take my case. I let KLS know and legal secretary, about this little court conspiracy as he got my insure info on rule 59/60 that a phone attorney told me to file and that you can get escorted visitation rights as I was accused of beating up my mom she was delusional w PTSD as a child I saved her life picking her off the floor she pushed off of me as I tried to get her to ER She was in afibrilation I called medics they took her to ER and she was fighting and swearing at them too. She got on meds over night and walked out of hospital Harrison next day.

Social warker was upset called me. Said She’s Done! ? She had taken photos of my mothers light bruising from picking her up. Called dshs and puppet case worker talked her into getting me evicted as I had been trying to take care of my resisting mom for 3 months.

She didn’t understand I couldn’t see her for 5 years!! Got eviction reversed via Sherrif letter, never found in file!!!

So I revoked court of appeal motion as she died 5 months later forgetting to take her vascular meds age 88! But I let then know also about the attorney and judge Olsen working together even though it’s against the law, but they can talk about it, like I was set up. So governor Inslee knows, dshs director of aging and care and I told case worker and to report this BS!!! I and my mom would meet at store parking lots’. Against law, I saw her 2 weeks before, we drove in separate cars through Starbucks together w her gift card I sent for her march BD. She died 2 weeks later after a few phone messages she was getting conjestive heart failure age 88. The day before she passed, 26 hours she ironically was found passed out in her car across the street from Starbucks at Walgren! Died a half hour later at Harrison hospital, She Choked on a nut after shopping paying rent saw landlords, nieghbor at store got her car keys, I got then after I zipped her body bag up::(( she couldn’t breathe she said to handsome et doctor!

I lost my dad 10 years ago this week I’m the only adult child now trying to find a new place to live out if bremerton my birth place, with my dog.

But I got a Bar Assoc attorney in Seattle finally last summer and also told dshs court off w a letter stating that my mom was the only person I had, and I was the only person child she had, and couldn’t believe I was accused of beating her up, and that I’m withdrawing dshs court do to illness I obtained from the stress of it all alone. He said it didn’t make sense that I would throw her on the floor and call 911.

Another judge retiring heard my case. She Was so sweet I used it for court of appeals vapo and they know about judge Olson and Atty husband. As does dshs courts and Gov Inslee. The system needs a new director and big changes.

I called dshs Olympia. Clerk said there are a few Gardians by them exploiting them monetarily.

They were slow to get action for my boyfriends family against a family exploiter of his brother and sisters father! They lost in court to get county of dad, and girlfriend married him and spent All money on pull tabs at bar and alcohol. Lost $300,000 home.

The Children got nothing. She pro my put his money in her other account.

Thanks for your time and fight. And look into escorted visitation rights a attorney told me about. You can maybe call police to be escorted?!

The judges attorney husband sure got gray hair fast after I told his secretary his wife was my judge Olsen! The evil attorney general assistants had my moms medical records, and did not tell judge about her mental conditions, and made me look to have one based on Old evidence. The Gov and Dshs knows this too/://. I can not work w elderky or young. On a list maybe but have not heard back since my big city attorney wrote them ;))

Please feel free to contact me about your similar Experiece or law suits, changes.

    Sincerely Yvonne. 206.650.4284

Ps I was following your dad’s case and mentioned it at court December 2014:) crazy loop holes and corruption entrapment of young and old. Good luck with your fight !!! Sorry about your loss and experience.

My mother was kept from me for 3 years by her sister and nephew, come to find out they stole over 100 thousand. Washington state APS said they investigated APS asked my mom sister and her nephew if they stole any money, “they stated no” cased closed ! At first the state APS did nothing, APS stated mom didnt fit their criteria. On the state website anyone over sixty qualifies, but not my mom! On the state website it also states anyone at anytime can refuse help, that is a LIE! The state hired this so called independent investigator, he was far from independent, lying snake with a law license.

Kept from my Mom for 3 years. Received a call before Thanksgiving letting me know her blood sugar is over 500. 5 weeks later she’s in Hospice one week later she is dead. Died alone no family, life long finances spent like the Guardian earned it. How can I help protect others from living the court assisted elder abuse and hell. I would love to post before and after guardianship kidnapping pictures
