Take The Pledge

Stop the Silence. Promote Awareness. Raise your Voice.

  • 1 to 2 million Americans age 65+ report having been abused by a loved one or someone they depend on for care.
  • Only 1 in 14 incidents of elder abuse are ever reported to authorities.
  • Only 1 in 25 cases of financial exploitation are ever reported, meaning there may be at least 5 million financial abuse victims each year.

You can do your part to end the silent epidemic of elder abuse by taking the pledge to stand up against elder abuse. There are 10,000 people who are turning 65 each and every day (Pew Research Center), and we are rapidly approaching a time where nearly 50% of the population will be 65 or older. Together, we can end the silence of elder abuse by standing united and raising our voices against this growing problem.

Show your support in this movement, by pledging to end the silence, raising awareness in your community, and speaking up against elder abuse.

"I can't thank you enough for starting this conversation. Your dad would be so proud. He is smiling watching you change such an important part of wishes that I am sure were already planned. It breaks my heart for all the pain you endure to get something that should not even be a fight. You are inspirational and have helped me keep my head on straight knowing how hard you are working. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." R. Bove

"You are amazing! Keep up the fight for all those that can't." S. Benton

Beverly Donias donias My mother was neglected and abused at several different nursing homes. When I spoke up they forced her under Guardianship through the court. The court had no protection and the Guardian did not protect. There is no accountability for those who dont do the job they are sworn to do. The bond at the court is a joke. Mom was placed in hospice to cover all the wrongs they had done. She was not terminal she was overmedicated, most were unnecessary drugs to control her that caused her many side effects . They kept her asleep most of the time so she was not awake to eat or drink slowly making it appear she was terminal. Then given a terminal inj. putting her in a coma while they contiune to give her morphine to shut her down. Because this was through the courts the law would not even investigate. No accountability they can do whatever they want to whomever they want. While isolating, medicating and stealing the estate. This must be stopped.

My father is a victim. As his children, we have no rights to help him. APS is not supportive. The girlfriend who then made herself his wife with a secret marriage has redone all his estate planning and has even sold one of his houses and other property. Our expensive lawyer did not help.

I really wish I had researched private elder abuse help while my father was still alive. He passed last month and my twin sister and I weren’t even told of his 2 funeral services. The reason for this I believe was that I found out my older brother had stolen @$200k of their money since 2003. He was an annuity salesman who moved money from one place to another taking commissions with each transfer. He also had his name on all of their financial accounts (only son) so it was legal. My father got diagnosed with dementia @6 years before he passed and my brother knew all about the issues of dementia and took advantage of it. I am going to start an investigative service to help people who hit “walls” when trying to get help to even get information about their dying parent. My twin and I were not on a “list” which was given by our brother. If my parents had died before January, 2016 I would have never found out about the stolen money. That was around the time my brother “divorced” my parents because my dad had questions about his money and I found the illegal activity. APS is a JOKE! They don’t do anything because the elderly won’t speak up or they get confused and can’t remember anything.

My family has been fighting a corrupt probate court that actually did nothing at all to protect my elderly parents from a corrupt attorney in conspiracy to aid two former evil family members to isolate my elderly father on oxygen at age 90 while my Mother is dying in intensive care. This has been going on for decades in Ohio. Abusive , cruel isolation all for the only purpose of greed. There are many cases here of corruption in probate court that no one in Ohio will do anything to stop, because as I was told by an attorney, “None of us would have any work.” So I am unstoppable in my cause to get justice for my parents. These attorneys in Ohio that steal family estates and commits fraud, theft of the elderly, are being protected by the good ol’ boy corruption in my area. The corrupt attorneys run the courts and committed fraud by aiding two evil brothers to steal my parent’s estate. There are many families here that did not have any way to fight back because of the corruption here. I will continue to fight for my good parents legacy and we have been fighting this an corrupt probate court since 2013 that will do nothing to protect families in Ohio. I continue my fight for my parents. I am unstoppable. This is a battle of GOOD vs. EVIL. GOD IS WATCHING.

My siblings and I are in the process of filing for Guardianship over our father. It is indeed the most difficult and saddest decision we have ever made and it breaks our hearts.
