Take The Pledge

Stop the Silence. Promote Awareness. Raise your Voice.

  • 1 to 2 million Americans age 65+ report having been abused by a loved one or someone they depend on for care.
  • Only 1 in 14 incidents of elder abuse are ever reported to authorities.
  • Only 1 in 25 cases of financial exploitation are ever reported, meaning there may be at least 5 million financial abuse victims each year.

You can do your part to end the silent epidemic of elder abuse by taking the pledge to stand up against elder abuse. There are 10,000 people who are turning 65 each and every day (Pew Research Center), and we are rapidly approaching a time where nearly 50% of the population will be 65 or older. Together, we can end the silence of elder abuse by standing united and raising our voices against this growing problem.

Show your support in this movement, by pledging to end the silence, raising awareness in your community, and speaking up against elder abuse.

"I can't thank you enough for starting this conversation. Your dad would be so proud. He is smiling watching you change such an important part of wishes that I am sure were already planned. It breaks my heart for all the pain you endure to get something that should not even be a fight. You are inspirational and have helped me keep my head on straight knowing how hard you are working. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." R. Bove

"You are amazing! Keep up the fight for all those that can't." S. Benton

I never knew this kind of garbage went on until I watched and read what Casey Kasem children went through and that woman needs to be in jail. My Dad’s girlfriend whom he never lived with filed and got granted conservator and gaurdian and wrote he had no kids or family she manipulated him into signing a Durable Medical Power of Attorney. So now I’m fighting for my Dads rights since they were ripped from him. I just keep saying she must of been watching that case very closely and she reminds me of the movie Widow on the Hill. And I fill my Dads girlfriend needs to be in jail. Just because they have them in a Cadillac of a nursing home dont mean they care. Where they feed him Haldol.

Great cause kerri me and (nicki) support this because it has happened to both of us in our own familys . and i see it happening all the time to vunerable adults . this is a nationwide problem that needs awareness . It not right that you cant visit your parents or grandparents when they become ill because someone wants their money or assets ..Never give up !!!

my family has not seen my grandfather since 2011. My aunt has withheld him from us not even a month after our grandmother passed away. Department of human services has been contacted but is not helping. All they did was a welfare check. His other daughter and his own sister are not permitted to see him. How do you explain something like this to his small great grandchildren? My aunt has taken him for everything he has and brainwashed him. Please help us.

It is terrible to think that anyone would abuse anyone. Especially the elderly and children.
